#45 Control | The Daily Doodle

Life is to be lived, not controlled.

Today’s doodle is about control.

It’s no secret that we adore our pets. In the U.S., nearly 90 million dogs sit by the table with their big eyes, begging for food. However, as the “Arms of an Angel” commercial reminds us, many dogs find themselves chained up in backyards, locked in cages, or attached to shock collars.

Imagine a world where dogs aren't owned but shared, free to roam and be loved by the entire community. In Singapore, a city is home to nearly 50,000 free-range cats, wandering freely and nurtured by everyone.

I bring this up because animal control was called for a beautiful Arendelle named Louis, who roams the streets of my family’s neighborhood. He walks alongside neighbors and runs to people’s yards to play with their dogs.

This incident prompted me to reflect on our culture’s need to control even the beings we love, who are supposed to be a part of the family.

Today’s invitation:

I’m curious to know your perspective. Should pets be confined to homes or allowed to roam the neighborhood freely?
