#72 Smoothies | The Daily Doodle

Put the lime in the coconut, and mix it all up!

Today’s doodle is about smoothies.

I stumbled upon the term "Sephora Kids" yesterday. It's essentially slang for the tween kids you find at Sephora throwing a tantrum over a $900 haul of Fenty Beauty.

Not to sound too much like a bitter Millennial, but I pity kids these days. The average teen spends 2 hours a day on TikTok, and they're constantly shown GRWM videos and the latest anti-aging regimens.

I remember buying the $10 packs of 5-fruit flavored lip glosses and feeling like the baddest tweeny-bopper in the building. Kids are missing their childhood and are growing up faster and faster.

They're being pushed expensive beauty products, the latest acai smoothie craze, and told they need to discover their personal brand. A personal brand at 13 years old?

To steer away from today's doodle being too political, I invite you to reflect on the most cringey-beautiful moments of your youth. A time where your ugly duckling phase was expected and your trips to the mall were capped at $20.
