#94 Flash | The Daily Doodle

Today’s doodle is about flash.

I'm all for bringing back those old-school, Motown, 60s-style signs. You know, the ones with the huge, fluorescent lights and gaudy colors.

Here in Knoxville, we've got a similar gaudy sign downtown at the Tennessee Theatre. A few years back, folks in the city rallied to save it because, well, developers wanted to swap it out for something more modern.

And it's not just the Tennessee Theatre sign we've fought for. Recently, they took down the JFG coffee sign for a bunch of reasons. Sure, it was blinding, but it added such a nostalgic heart to the city, reminding us all of our history.
